From about 1890 to 1940 studio cameras didn't change a whole lot, after 1940 They painted the new ones grey instead of finishing them.
The easiest way to tell is if there is any word of
Folmer Graflex (1928-1944) Folmer & Schwing DEPARTMENT (1918-
1928) and Fomer & Schwing DIVISION (1905-1918)
If the Vitax has a studio shutter, it was probably7 pat. in 1907. but used through the 20s.
It may say somewhere on the camera inside, "made by Eastman Kodak, sucessor to Century Camera" then you could research when Century was bought out by Kodak.
My gut feeling is it's probably from the teens to the 30s.
