The battery doors are easy to fabricate:
Cut out a piece of 1/16th" thick material (Aluminum)
exactly the size of the hole in the back of the
RF cover. Cut out a second one the same height but
1/8" longer. Attach them together with four small
rivets near the corners of the smaller piece, centered
with a 1/16" of the longer plate appearing at each end.
Spray paint it black.
The original includes two T shaped springs on the back
that press against the batteries or the "factory"
wooden shipping block to press it outwards into the hole
in the RF cover but a small piece of plastic foam
behind it works as well.
I have also made temporary ones very successfully with
two layers of mat board and some black cloth tape.
