You have yourself a Crown View camera. It was made from 1938 to
1942. The all-metal Graphic View began production in 1941, and
apparently took over. The Crown View was made in either brass or
chrome trim. Most had brass, I think. It used the 4x4 lensboard
that the Graphic View and a lot of other cameras used. The back
looks a lot like the Graphic View back, but they aren't
interchangable. It came with an extension rail that allowed 19" of
bellows extension. They bring about the same price as the more
versatile but less classy (IMHO) Graphic View. Any other Q's? I
like these cameras.

: I'm trying to identify which model my (newly found) field
camera is-I've not
: found a representative photo anywhere.
: It's wood-has a foldable front rail which is wood with metal
gearing, front
: standard movement is limited to vertical, horizontal-no swing,
has a leather
: top handle, ground glass is rotatable, what appears to be a
production
: number is carved into the base, appears to have the capability to
attach an
: accessory back rail. The manufacturer info plaque says: CROWN
VIEW
: CAMERA manufactured by the Folmer'Graflex Corporation. That
means
: it's between 1926-48, but which one?
: Any help would be great.
