If I understand your problem, it amounts to the infinity position
falling right at the hinged portion of the track. The solution
which comes to my mind is to use either a recessed or an extended
board for mounting the lens, such that the infinity position falls
on the bed tracks, or on the camera body tracks, but NOT in
between!
