Center filters will only correct for light fall off
at the edges, not for abberations, chromatic or otherwise. Since
the fall off is a function of the difference in the distance the
light travels between the center of the image and the edges,
stopping down will not correct the problem.
Since the 100m widefield ektar is not and extremely wide angle
lens, it doesn't suffer the light fall off problem as much as say a
58 XL on 4x5. The lens is desgined to be used on 3x4 with movements
or 4x5 without.
While the effect may be more pronounced on 4x5, I don't believe it
warrants a center filter, nor do I know a) anybody using one, and
b) where one could be obtained, since center filters are lens
specific.
