: I just bought at Ebay an F-R adjustable dev tank. It
: seems to be in very good condition and fully adjustable.
: But it does not seem to have a light baffle just a hole
: in the top to pour liquid in and out and a small hole in
: corner to vent.
: Is this all it uses to dev cut film. No way to
: agitate and you must keep it in dark? Seems weird to
: me. Is there a better system rather than tray
: processing,or deep tank with stainess holders? Which
: also must be done in complete darkness.

An FR tank should have: an adjustable wall,
a 'C" shaped bracket about 3.4" wide to keep the film seperated,
a square light trap with a couple of concentric rings on the top,
a lid also with matching rings and a lip around the edge to fit the tank.

I happen to buy one on ebay and the seller chose to pack it poorly and I now have a complete FR tank with a large hole in the tank. Contact me off list if you need some parts.

I think SS holders and large tanks are a pain and expensive. The nikon reels are nice and the yankee tanks are a good alternative.

Both the FR tank and the Yankee need to be agitated from side to side rather than inverted like roll film. All of these are call daylight tanks because you don't need to be in the dark all of the time like you do SS holders.
