: Hello all:
: Now that I'm out of school. . .I need to get
: my own equipment. Bummer. I was wondering if
: any 4x5 Graphic users could recommend to me
: (or let me know if I'm dreaming) a new or used
: tripod, around $150, that is a sufficient support
: for my camera. Recommendations for locations
: to purchase equipment would also be appreciated.
: Happy Shooting!

The Berlebach line of wooden tripods carried by
Calumet is a good one. They are made in Germany of
straight grained ash, with metal fittings. They
come in a range of styles and sizes, not all of
which are listed at Calumet's web site.
Mine is a model "Report 3002" which has two-
section legs, and stands about 5 feet fully
extended. The head is a plain 3/8" threaded stud
which will accept many different types of heads.
I believe I paid about $170 for it. They have
other models with built-in ball heads and 1/4-20
or 3/8-16 studs, so no additional head is needed.
My model is plenty sturdy with my 8x10 Deardorff
mounted. It has no problem with the Speed Graphic.
Best bet would be to call them at 800 225-8638
(Sales) or 800 453-2520 (Customer Service)
