: Thanks

I also recently purchased a Speed Graphic with a
Zeiss Tessar 105mm f/4.5 lens in a Compur shutter.

The "T" is for Time you press it once and the
shutter opens and remains open until you press it
the second time, when the shutter closes. You'll
find it handy when and if you focus on the
ground gla ss. Other than that, except for time
lapse or very long exposures like astro-photo-
graphy you may not use it.

"B" is for Bulb and works thus: after you set
the shutter you press the shutter and it opens.
As soon as you let go of the shutter it will
close. So you might use this for semi-long
exposures. (one hippopotamus, two hippopotamus...)

I can't explain the other letters. My Compur
has fractions of a second, from 1 to 1/250th.

The Kalart works thus. If you align your eye
correctly AND the rangefinder is aligned with
your lens then when the two images coincide as
you rack in/out the bellows with the focusing
knobs the image should be in focus.

Les recommended and I just bought on Ebay the
1947 Edition of "Graphic Graflex Photography."
It's 400 some odd pages of information about
your Speed Graphic. You can get one on Ebay
for $20.

Kent Tolley
