: The old Polaroid holder may work, but the current
: model 545 will work better. I like the metal 545
: instead of the PVC or ABS or whatever 545i.
: I understand the older ones don't engage the metal
: tab on the end of the film packet and you may
: either wind up with blanks, or may pull the neg
: out of the holder.
I haven't had first hand experience with the 500 but thought that
there was no way to stop the darkslide. The best way is to find
somebody that has some out dated polaroid. Put the film in under
load, see if it engages the metal end. Pull the darkslide (sleeve
acutally) until you can see the entire film area, now look at the
back of the film holder and make a concience effort to see some
relation ship with the graphics of the dark sleeve and the back of
the holder. "Pull it out till the "k' in kodak is just visible, so
some such thing. Then you just don't get into a hurry with it
because once you've pulled the sleeve all the way out, you can't
get it back in, and Polaroid is getting too expensive too use, let
alone waste.
