Dear Les -

Thank you so much for your help! You've answered the question
I began with which was whether this camera was a Miniature Speed Graphic (1939 - 1946)
or if it was a Pacemaker Speed Graphic (2x3) (1947 - 1970).
This is serial numnber is from the last year of production of the
original 2¼ x 3¼ Miniature Speed Graphic. I wonder now if this lens is original for this specimen
since you say this lens is typical of those from 1939 - 1940.
I was aware of the eyepiece attachment missing from the Kalart Rangefinder but I was not aware it contained an optical element.
Because of that and wanting a spare lensboard for a portrait lens or a telephoto lens (~ 200 mm) I just bought another
Speed Graphic for parts. I hope to restore my Kalart and then follow the instructions at Graflex.Org for adjusting the finder.

Thank you so much again. I am so happy to know about this camera and when it was built.
I can imagine Carl Zeiss Jena factory must have been a favorite ally bombing site.
And I know now that my Zeiss lens comes from Nazi Germany and the body is immediately post-war.

Kind regards,
Kent
