: I have an old polaroid adapter for a speed graphic. I
: think it is the model 500, or maybe the 550. In any
: event, my local camera store says that I can no longer
: use this adapter because Polaroid no longer makes the
: film for it.
The Model 500 4x5 Polaroid back is obsolete and will give
trouble with current production films.
It was a light pinkish or beige color.
The 550 is for current production 550 films which are slightly different than the 4x5 materials.
The 545 and 545i holders are for current production 4x5 films with two digit type numbers:
Type 79, type 55, type 54 etc.
The 405 holder is for pack type films in 3 1/4 x 4 1/4 size with
6xx type numbers. 679, 655, etc.
The packs hold eight or ten sheets each. They are current
production.
: I asked someone at polaroid (they have a helpfull 800
: number), and he said "you can use it, you just need to
: load it sheet by sheet. Can anyone tell me what he
: meant? Lose the "spammex" to respond via email.
