Can anyone provide the lens thread sizes (and how measured) for the Series (VI, VII, VIII)? I think my Carl Meyer has a series VII front thread... 52, 55, and 58mm filters don't fit. Thanks in advance! |

>SERIES IV 13/16" 23mm filter threads
>SERIES V 1 3/16" 34mm filter threads
>SERIES VI 1 5/8" - 44mm filter threads
>SERIES VII 2" 55mm filter threads
>SERIES VIII 2 1/2" - 65mm filter threads
>SERIES IX 3 1/4" - 85mm filter threads
>SERIES X 4 1/2" 114.3mm ?
>SERIES XI 5 7/16" 138mm ?
This is the thread diameter. I don't know what the pitch (threads per inch or threads per mm) was. I have heard that is was different than the standard threaded filters of today.

hey last July I got off of ebay a SERIES VI circular polarizer filter
from seller camera1352011
what I got was a SERIES VI to 55mm adapter & a 55mm circular polarizer filter
camera1352011 don't have anything up on ebay today
SO I can use any 55mm with this // or STEP DOWN to 52mm
or STEP DOWN to 49mm
its a 44mm BUT I can't find any STEP-up from 44 to 52
But I can find 43mm to 52mm |

Yes, you should be able to step down from 55mm to 52 to 49 with the proper step rings on your 44 to 55 series VI slip ring. This would involve some ganging of step rings but it should work, IMO.
I was lucky enough to find 44-49, 44-52, and 44-55 rings at a camera show a few years ago. They are all marked "made in India," if that's any use to you. I've never seen them anywhere else, or listed by the major retailers (B&H, etc.). C'est la vie.... |
