|
|
Hello,
This just out of curiosity.
What is the difference between the film holder for a 4x5 Pacemaker Speed Graphic and one used for the RB Series D reflex 4x5 camera?
I use the standard 4x5 Fidelity holders for my Speed, but are they compatible with the Reflex 4x5?
I would appreciate some enlightenment.
Thank you.

The Graflex SLR has a Graflex back.
http://graflex.org/speed-graphic/features.html#GraflokBack
1. The Graflex has a slot that mates with the edge of the back to form a light trap. The standard or Graphic/Graflok has two ribs, one fits into a grove in the back edge and the other fits just outside the edge of the back forming the light trap.
2. The Graflex holder is wider than the standard film holder.
3. The film plane is at a different depth than a standard film holder.
4. The Graflex film holder has a slot the length of the side, standard do not.
5. The Graflex back can be modified to use standard film holders but the ground glass has to adjusted for the difference in film plane.
6. The Bag Magazine only fits the Graflex back. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
