Hi, I just got a Crown Graphic 4 x 5 circa 1947 and am in the process of figuring it out. It has an Ektar 4.7f lens and a Supermatic shutter. I have a friend who has a nearly identical camera that has a cable release attachment as shown in the first photo below (red arrow pointing to it.). However, even though I have the same kind of lens and shutter as his, you can see in the photo of my camera (see second photo below) that I have no such attachment. I do have some kind of metal apparatus that his camera doesn't have, as you can see. Can someone guide me as to where I should look for a cable release attachment? PHOTO

There's a plug in your shutter's cable release socket. Unscrew it. |

Thanks! I thought that "plug" was some kind of permanent doo-dad and was afraid to mess with it. Problem solved! |
