Well, Richard,
The solenoid(s) were used to trip the shutter when the flash button was pushed in the days before flash sync was incorporated into the shutter. Solenoids without post should have two small holes in the bottom where pins from the sync cord plug in. Today solenoids can be used for electronic shutter release. The adjustment procedure is here: http://graflex.org/helpboard/viewtopic.php?t=1453&highlight=solenoid+adjustment and is for syncing the shutter opening to the peak light output of flash bulbs.
The two pins on the shutter are called BiPost and are the flash sync terminals. They should fire a flash when the shutter is tripped and might fire a flash when the shutter is being cocked. _________________ The best camera ever made is the one that YOU enjoy using and produces the image quality that satifies YOU. |
