Henry:
You dated a Crown at 1959 with a serial number starting with a 9. Does this 9 indicated the last year of 1959. BTW, my Crown's serial number is 910495. _________________ One old curmudgeon Photog |

Would it were so simple, but AFAIK, any such match is purely coincidental, and is not borne out by the list as a whole. Others may wish to comment. Your 910495, for instance, dates from c. 1956. |

Can you stand one more how old is my camera? The data plate indicates mfg'd by GRAFLEX INC, Rochester, SN #950070, & the code under the yoke is H2A.
Thanks, James |

August 1962, presumably a Crown Graphic. ('H' is August-- eighth letter of the alphabet means the eighth month. '2' = 1962.) |

Thanks Dave-my camera is a CG. One question tho-if the "2" indicates 1962, what is the number used for 1972?

"2" But the "A" at the end means it's the first version. At some point there will be a major or minor change to the camera. It's highly unlikely that any product would last ten years without a change, As it happened, my Feb of '73 Crown was B8B. _________________ "In order to invent, you need a good imagination and a lot of junk" Thomas Edison |
