Hi People! I recently bought a Century with a couple of nice accessories and one that is a mystery ????????. Best described and functions as a slide on for the Graflok that has a 35mm ground glass as a viewing and a focusing screen. This red headed stepchild looks factory made but has no makers name or mark. i guess my questions would be: why would they make this and has anyone seen or heard of such. Thanks, Al Sutten |

If I understand you, its a sliding back that can attach itself to a 2x3 Graflok, has a 2x3 Graflok back on one side and a 35mm ground glass on the other?
No idea why that would be made. The "factory built" doesn't suprise me, there were a lot of cottage companies making accessories for Graphic cameras in the post war years.
Now if it didn't have a Graflok back on it, but some other odd mount, it might have accepted an 828 roll back, essentially the back of a Kodak roll film camera. This would allow you to use Kodachrome film in your Century, though as cumbersome as the set up is, I would say it would be limited to table top or copy/ close up photography. |
