Hi,
i am travelling to New York next week, and i would like to ask that does anyone know a good photo mechanic there (e.g.: like skgrimes?)
I would like to build together a Graflex Super D with a polaroid 405 film holder.
If you have any suggestions who should i ask for this work i would be grateful.
thank you and
best wishes,

| Borocz, I'm not sure whether you want to acquire a good Super D -- Lens & Repro, in NYC, sells Super Ds in good order at high prices -- or whether you have one that you want to have serviced. It is a long shot, but Armato's (sorry, don't have their phone number, they are in area code 718) used to be a Graflex warranty repair station.
Good luck,

In New York, Lens and Repro would be the place to have custom work done on a Graflex reflex camera. They are kind of expensive, but they do a fair amount of this work. |

In New York, such a craftsman is hard to find these days. Marty Forscher's Professional Camera Repair in the diamond district used to be the place to go for all such things. Since they closed, I send most of my repair work out to places like S. K. Grimes in Rhode Island, Frank Marshman in Virginia, Marflex now in North Carolina, etc.
If you need to repair a modern Japanese camera in New York, however, Nippon Camera Service is excellent. |
