				| I am looking at an Ansco #5 lens that is in a brass shutter engraved Wollensack optical.
The lens cells LOOK like a Rapid Rectilinear type (double Gauss? aplanat?) US #4-128 (f/8-45?).

Does anyone know what Wollensack called their lens of this design? (Assuming it's analogous to a B&L RR)

 Thanks

 Murray

				| More digging...kind of looks like 2 single elements rather than 2 achromats.
Also looks like shutter is an Ansco name-plated Wollensack "Winner" model.

Iris is dragging one foot...gotta figure out how to get to it...

				| Uh-OH, the cocking lever and spring came out when I took the shutter cover off apart...probably the first required step in disassembly, but I better wait until I find someone who knows these. | |

				| correction...US aperture 8-128 (f/11-45)
 found a 1907-ish catalog at camereccentric.com

appears to confirm Wollensak "Winner" model shutter in appearance, and they also made "Rapid Rectilinears".

I still hope to cross paths with someone here who is familiar with the shutter guts before I get too intimate with it.
