Anyone have experience with this lens and/or lens shutter combination? I shoot mostly nature and landscape with Velvia and FP4+ and am looking for a 200-210mm lens. The Nikkor 200mm M looks great but costs a bundle. The Ektar 203mm looks good but filters are a problem.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

It is a Rodenstock Geronar. Triplet, has got good reports when shot stopped down. For more info, use Google.
And it isn't in the original shutter; someone bought the lens, removed the cells from the original shutter, and since then they've been put in a press shutter, most likely from a Polaroid CU-5. If so, to focus you'll have to set the speed to "T." |

I thought I replied a couple of weeks ago but I must have messed up. I 'Google' everything to death and was looking for any additional information that people wanted to provide. I'd love the Nikkor 200mm M but it's pretty expensive when available. The 203mm Ektar is also pretty attractive but filters are an issue. It seems like a Caltar II-E (in the original shutter) is a pretty good deal. In 135 I use my 105mm Micro Nikkor the most so maybe I should be looking for a 300mm lens...

I have a Caltar IIE but I haven't used it yet. I've seen some photos taken by these. Very sharp! Best results will be had at f:16. Don't discount the 203 Ektar, either. It is one extremely sharp lens and filters shouldn't hold you back. If you can't get the filters you want in the Series filter lineup, you can always rig an adapter. I also got one of these and haven't used it yet. I better get busy.....

Scott, FWIW I use my 105/2.8 the most too on 35 mm, and when I had a 105/2.5 I used it the most. But on 2x3 I shoot much wider than on 35 mm. Not sure why, but I do.
There are a lot of good deals out there.

I have an Ilex-Calumet Caltar-S 215mm (8.5") that I absolutely love. This too is a Rodenstock.
