Hello all, I am new to crown graphics though I have a modest understanding of 4x5 in general, I have a wollensak 135 optar mounted to my crown. The shutter speeds sound accurate even at 1 second, but When I want to use the bulb setting or time setting the shutter just fires for like a 50th of a second. Am I doing something wrong?? Thanks |

Sounds like an old shutter where a pin to actuate the B and T settings is just not catching, perhaps because something is worn or bent. It can be fixed, and it's probably about time for a full CLA on that shutter anyway. Many repair technicians can do this. Carol Flutot on the West Coast has a good reputation for doing good, affordable shutter repair with quick turnaround. On the East Coast I usually use Frank Marshman in Harrisonburg, VA or S. K. Grimes in Rhode Island. |
