Hi!
As I understand it, the Pacemaker models would have the Graflok back as a separate (detachable) unit, unlike the Centurys, where the back is integrated into the housing. Would anybody know the weight of these separate Graflok backs for the 6x9 cm (2x3") and 4x5" size respectively? If you care to answer, please specify what your weight includes:
Back with or without GG frame - GG frame -focussing hood.
Kind regards - Hening Bettermann.

Well the Graflok back on everything save the Century is a removable back, 5 screws and you'll have a camera that you can't do anything with.
Replacing the Graflok back with a Graphic (spring) back will put much of the weight back on since the frame that screws into the wood is nearly identical.
If your real question is "What is the weight difference between a Graflok and a Graphic back" then it won't be more than a couple of ounces

Hi Les,
Thank you for your answer. - I do not intend to replace the Graflok back by a Graphic spring back. My idea is to mount a 6x9 Graflok back on my 6x9 Arca Swiss, hoping to save weight; and on a Toho 45 Mini, hoping to save weight (and bulk) in that the Graflok back will allow me to use Horseman 6x9/6x9 RF holders (450 gr) instead of slide-in holders (600 gr). So what you call my real question, is: What is the weight difference between a 6x9 Graflex Graflok back and my 6x9 Arca Swiss Graflok back (330 gr). And: What is the weight difference (and in which direction) between a 6x9 Graflex Graflok back and the GG frame + springs on the Toho (which weight I don't know yet.)
You see? - Kind regards - Hening. |
