Hi,

I've recently acquired a Super Graphic. It is in wonderful conditions, except for the rangefinder. It actually works, but it is "sticky". The metal bracket which comes to the rails is somehow sluggish. The cam works correctly and so the cam spring. I bet there's something inside that rangefinder "transmission tube" (?). I have another Super Speed Graphic with a broken ragenfinder (lacks of bracket ending, rangefinder mirrors to be fixed). I could experiment on that one. However, I have no idea on how to access the rangefinder inner components. There are no visibile screws. In the bits of documentation I've found, it is written that I should remove the upper focusing scale indicator... but again: how?? I don't want really to force anything. Any suggestion?

thank you

PS - I have a P33 and a P34 cams (which should be for ~135mm lenses). I do not own a 135mm lens. But I'd like to have a cam for a 90mm and a 150mm lens. How I should proceed to manufacture one? Otherwise, are Graflex Super Graphic cams a rarity to find (on ebay)?

1). Remove bellows and front standard as an assembly. A).With focus panel off you can see/find the rear bellows clips. B). From inside camera box remove terminal strip cover and disconnect the bellows wires only.
2). Remove 8 screws holding back on then gently pry out back mounting plate.
3). Rotate spring clip that holds scale cover to release cover and remove.
4). Disolve cement holding pointer to shaft and remove pointer.
5). Remove screws and clips holding RF tube. Remove tube assembly.
6). Remove screws holding RF and electronics plate to top of camera, they're inside the camera box.
7.) Remove RF/electronics assembly.
Reassembly is reverse of disassembly.

The good book does not say how to reattach the pointer.

Charles
