Hi gang. New here, but I have lurked for a while.
I recently picked up an Optar 101mm, for use on my 4x5. Well, it arrived, and I now know that this is a lens for the smaller formats. I was hoping I could put it n a larger lens board,and use it.
Will this lens cover 4x5? Maybe use it as a paperweight?

Won't cover 4x5, is a bit light for a paperweight. But since you have it, try it.
I've seen normal lenses for 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 offered on eBay with claims to the effect that they do, against all expectations, work on 4x5. Could be that the lenses work, could be that the vendors have low standards for image quality, could be that they're lying. So give yours a try and report back. |
