Hi, I am new to this forum.
In the next days I will receive (hopefully) my new Century Graphic which I bought from ebay.
Altough I don't have the camera yet, I do have it's serial.
Can anybody tell me the age of my camera from that number?
# 6303850
It has a dual colored side rangefinder.

Thanks a lot in advance.
Guido

Go to home page, and click on Cameras, and then go to product list page and scoll down and you will be able to get a rough estimate of dating... someone else may have more exact info...

According to http://graflex.org/graflex-products-list.html your camera is post-1964, but that leaves a big gap until end of production in 1973. Where is Gandolf?

Meanwhile, let's all have some Napfkuchen! What flavor? Schokolade? Gerne!

Thank you for your answers.
I now have the camera - a real beauty.
I forgot to mention that is has a red bellows - which means that is is from pre-1963, according to the list.
One more question:
The rangefinder's images are not adjusted laterally - anything one can do to fix that?

Regards
Guido

Go to http://www.graflex.org/speed-graphic/kalart-manual.html .

Scroll down the pages until you see the heading "Lateral or Side Image Adjustment" (page 9, on the right-hand side).

In a post I made in " Graflex.org Site Discussion " about Date Codes in Service Buliten #7 ( http://graflex.org/helpboard/viewtopic.php?topic=3321&forum=16&0 ) we get that the Century has a date stamp on the bottom of the outer most cross member of the yoke (rails). The date code(s) there run from Jan 1960 to Dec 1971. Being this site removes formating spaces things are jumbled up so if you have difficulity determining date just post the code from the bottom of your cameras yoke and I will decipher it for you.

Dear 45PSS

Thanks a lot for that post.
I was able to immedately date my camera correctly. Now I know that it is even older than I am.

Hi Gandolf

In the meantime I received the camera (and a few more)
After your reply I looked up the number to check - and yes, it's wrong.
The correct number is:

530385

Here are the numbers of my other Century Cameras, if you could please look them up, too.
510279
519553

Kind regards
Guido
