OK so I went and read the procedure - how to adjust a side mt range finder. Perhaps its difficult to visualize without having one here but it looked somewhat 'unstraightforward'. I am used to using tools, Is it as problematic as it appears?
So there is this perhaps tricky procedure for the side mount - and on the other hand, the problems of estabishing the actuall focal length of a lense for a cam in the top mount models.
I would assume that some lenses are more standard and, therefore, easier to get top rf cams for than others,
So for instance, how standard might a Schnieder Angulon F6.8 90mm be?
(and I dread asking this next question for fear of the obivious - 'why would you want to?' Well I might if I could, but I won't if I can't) but 'Can you cam for a super angulon f8 65mm???'
perhaps of some one could suggest a retailer who may have a lost, I mean List.
P
Or am i making dangerous assumptions again?
thanks.

The side mount adjustment isn't really tricky, just tiresome. In a sound bite form.

set the infinity stops. and adjust the RF to infinity with the cam at the bed.

Focus at 50 feet, adjust scale. check inf focus, adjust cam again.

Check 50 ft adjust scale.

Check 25ft adjust scale. check inf, check 50ft.

Check 15ft? adjust inner scale. check inf, 50, 25

Rinse and repeat.

And no, neither the Kalart nor the Graflex finder will cam to 65mm.
