I do appreciate the information i seem to be continuing to ask for here. Yet another of my basic questions. The fold out hood for viewing on the back of a Super Graphic - can it be replaced with an earlier model as the super hood is normally a soft arrangement and the later model crowns and speeds seem to be metal. If this is possible any suggestions for obtaining one. I am looking at a super at present and the seller says that there is a spring missing that assists with focussing. I think he means the rangefinder, he says its at the back on the right hand side. Is this sort of thing findable do you know?
Appreciate your generosity with information, and am starting to get a bit embarrased with all my questions.

NO. The retaining clip is different and there is a size difference.
The only "spring" involved in focusing is in the rangefinder system. New springs can be frabicated or formed from existing springs or spring stock.

I think I know what he's talking about and it has to do with the rangefinder.
On Pacemaker Crowns and Speeds there is a tube that runs from the rangefinder on top down to a stop on the rails. There is a metal plunger, (actually looks more like a metal rod) that comes from tube and touches the stop. As the lens is focused the stop moves the plunger (and thus the rangefinder.)
On Supers this rod was replaced by a flat spring, much like a measuring tape. Occasionally these springs take on a set when the camera has been closed for decades. They also get kinked.
