Has anyone tried setting the Infinity rather
short to aim for the Hyperfocal distance and let the depth of field take care of the rest,I have found this to be the case in a wide angle camera with a 65mm on 6x9 where you wont use anything larger than f16 to shoot.I am most unlikely to need any stop larger than f11 and the method appeared to offer some attractions-would I make a real mess of setting up the Kalart if I tried this on a 101 or 150mm lens? |

Seems to me that using the focus scale would be easier and a lot less headaches. Focus scales are easy to make. A piece of tape on the bed will do, and it works just fine. I use small apertures for most things and when in a hurry for things like street shots, I just scale focus at ten to thirty feet, depending on how far away any main subject may be, and shoot at f:22. Everything of interest, near to far, is in acceptably good focus. With a wide angle lens, you would have even better results. |
