I hope someone with the VM can shed light on this relic. It is marked "No. 2 GRAY EX:ANGLE STIGMAT" with a four digit serial number. It is in a brass Wollensak shutter with two pneumatic tubes, and dial set speeds. The shutter bears patent dates of 1900 and 1901, and is self-cocking.
The lens itself is very compact and appears to only have two elements. The aperature scale begins at f11, even though at that setting the diaphragm blocks half of the diameter of the glass. I suspect the performance wider than f11 was unacceptable, and they were discouraging trying to use it wide open.
The lens covers my 5X8 plate camera, and may cover more.

Went through the LFORM book. No mention of Gray or Stigmat...
Good luck on that one
