I know I can get a Aero Ektar (6inch f2.5) fitted on a lens board for my Crown, but that is not going to work for lack of a focal plane shutter. Can this lens be fitted to a shutter?

Probably not. But you should be able to use it on a Speed Graphic, and everyone needs a Speed Graphic.

If you haven't bought it yet, check to make sure that it has a diaphragm. If it does, please report back. I've never seen a 6" Aero Ektar with one, even though every 7" I've seen has had one.

Good luck,

Dan

Sorry, I should have suggested that front mounting it on a large Alphax, Betax, or Ilex shutter might work. Visit http://www.skgrimes.com to see what they've done along those lines. These shutters' only drawback is relatively slow fastest speeds.

Good luck,

Dan

Do you have a Pacemaker Speed Graphic.
Yes? Then you can have a flange fitted to a lens panel to fit the 7" Ektar as Mr Burnett did.
With a 'Crown you would be better off going for a 180mm or 210mm lens in shutter unless you must have the f2.5 max aperture.
I have bought a 210mm barrel mount G-Claron, the cells of which will be going into a new Copal #1. A barrel 150 or 210mm G-Claron would be wonderful on a 'Speed if you don't mind the slow f9 max aperture.

I have decided to go with a 250mm Tele-Xenar (to go with my 135 Xenar). I will post some results. *Note, I have a Crown, not a Speed in 4x5. I do have a Speed 2x3 but I don't have any intention of mounting an Aero-Ektar on the 2x3.
