I have a "Dynamic Optic" "aus Jena" 210 f6.3...in an MP3's Prontor shutter. I have a hunch that the cells weren't original in the shutter.

Because I found it to be distinctly unsharp at middle-distance (full length portraits) I forgot about it for the last thirty years. Nice shutter, though, and I need to dedicate lens to a copy-stand-dedicated 4X5 Graphic.

Sooo....is there a way I can confirm/adjust the cell spacing without elaborate technology (maybe just with a micrometer or peering through it at a target) ?

Do you know this lens? Is it likely worth the effort to confirm cell spacing?

I've seen these lenses show up on that auction site occasionally. Not sure what they were for or if they're any good but they don't go for much. It doesn't belong in an MP-3 shutter. 210mm is an awfully long lens to use for copy work on a Graphic. Not enough bellows draw to get much magnification. I'd go for a much shorter lens, like a 105mm Tominon off an MP-4. They're dirt cheap and may fit your shutter. The Tominon lenses for MP-4 go down to 75mm and cover 4X5. Good lenses, too.

Glenn, you've driven the spike into this one. And you're right about the focal length.

It'll make a nice, clicking paperweight.
