I trying to find information on the lens, 36"f8 telephoto, and the Fairchild K-38 shutter. Looking for info on how to use the shutter, and the available shutter speeds. Seems with the size of the lens and the sheer amount of glass used to make it that it must have cost a lot of money at one time. Thanks...

All I know is that it didn't cost as much as the WWII airplane that the camera it was made for fits in.

Go here

http://www.gordon.army.mil/ocos/Museum/

This is the Signal Corp Museum.

If you ask nicely. they might have the Tech manual (TM) for the camera. Other Museums might have it but Delores is very nice and very accessable. If things work out and they can copy the necessary pages, be generous with a donation. They are running on a very worn shoe string and they are the best museum I've found on at least their branch of military cameras.

Okay I'll step off my soap box now.
