My Speed Graphic has the kind of back that has springs where you pull the back out and slide the film carrier in.
Can I use a Polaroid 545 with this type of back?

Yes. The 545 Polaroid adapter is designed to slide under a spring-loaded focusing panel, just like a cut film holder. It will work with "Graphic" and "Graflok" backs.
