I am back ! Having bought an 'Anniversay', well I think it is, I need some 'bits'. Not sure of the terminology so bear with me, two rising front knurled lock nuts, the eye piece for the tubular view finder. Frosted glass which has has the corners cut off but is cracked too !! and the spring back material sides dont appear to be fixed to anything, are they supposed to be trapped under the small plates that hold the frosted glass in ?? The serial number is 398682. the lens is a Kodak Extar f:4.7 127m EC11663 Does any of this make sense to anyone???!!! I have tried Pacific Rim for bits but they told me to contact you and ask for JOHN!!! |

Sorry - John isn't here anymore.
Seriously, this isn't a sales forum. Do a little research and you'll find some suggested places elsewhere. |

| Alecj can be a bit of a curmudgeon. You, however, seem to have posted a "wants" list here. This is against forum rules. That y'r list was somewhat, um, breathless and incoherent just makes it more annoying. Yes, Alec could have explained this to you more gently. At least he didn't tell you "Don't go away mad, just go away."
Not everyone who posts here likes the rule prohibiting publication of offers to buy and sell on this site. One member has made space available on another site for this purpose. See http://www.southbristolviews.com/graflexchange/index.php
To the extent that the group of individuals who use this site has a shared ethos, it can be summarized as "educate yourself, think for yourself, take care of yourself." Less harshly, "Graphic/Graflex photography: for the thinking photographer." We help each other with self-help, if you see what I mean.
Cheers, good luck,
Dan |

As an owner of an Anniversary Speed Graphic, perhaps I'm a bit more empathetic. All Speed Graphics were made to U. S. (English thread) standards. Check your local hardware store for nuts for the front standard. One guy on this list sells ground glass (not too subtly) as a possible replacement. Another choice would be to look for a used Graflok back, a retrofit from the 1950s that has several advantages over the original back.
It's a good hobby. Have fun. |

Thanks for the info, I had no intention of offending anyone , sorry if the original message looked like a shopping list, But ,I would be grateful if someone could tell me the date of the camera and lens etc, and how the spring back material sides are attached to the body of the spring back itself. |

Kodak had a date code and the code word is CAMEROSITY which coincide with the numbers 1-0 c=1, a=2
EC on your lens dates to 1940 the first year of the code and the first year of the Anny. I suspect that the sight on top of the camera is silver, or may look like nickel plate that has a yellowish varnish on it. That's typical of the first 6 months of production.
I think the wings on the ground glass cover were pinched under the folded sheet metal on the cover itself and under some metal bars on the ground glass side. How you go about repairing this has been elusive to me. |

I find this statement quite funny as the only glass I have sold on this message system has been from inquiries and recommendations, I have never posted a FS ad around here at all, I am just another user who looks for information and tries to help when I can..

Thanks for the info, yes the finder does have a yellow tinge. and I agree I think you would need 4 hands to trap the cloth and fit the glass at the same time. I expect someone has the technology do it !!
The flash bracket has the name Heiland and 65E-1 on it, Is there a special flash assembly required or will any type fit ? |
