Hi all:
I've recently came in possession of a Ciroflex tlr but it's shutter was stuck open. I fixed that only to find that the actual shutter doesn't release. The trigger appears to work but doesn't release or arm the shutter leaves. I haven't completely opened/uncovered the mechanism yet; I'm looking for advice and warnings. Got any.
Terry
PS I'm a newbie. |

As the shutter on a Ciro is simular to the large format shutters, I would send it to S.K Grimes for an estimate, or you should be able to drop them a note and they could let you know what it might cost to repair.

If the shutter primarily needs a thorough cleaning and adjustment, as is likely, many old-line camera repair services can do that. S.K. Grimes is a fine resource if there also is some grave mechanical malfunction that requires replacement of a part. |

I have had Grimes shop work on several of my shutters, and the cleanings have only ran about $60.00, I know the Ciro-Flexes are only selling for about $35.00 right now though, but they are fine picture takers, I have owned a couple of them..

Which shutter do you have? Is it the self-cocking Century? Fred.
Whoops! Make that self-cocking Alphax. The self-cocking Century I was referring to is on my Ciro 35. Fred.
