Hi, yet another question for you guys:
I live in NY city and was wondering if anyone knows of a reliable camera shop that could take a look at my miniature speed graphic and give me a few pointers on changing my graphic back for a Graflok back. Also I bought the Graflok back on ebay and it would be helpful if they could check it out as i feel a little out of my depth in assesing its completeness.
cheers, Aaron

Nobody's answered, so I'll make this unhelpful response.
First off, no camera shops I know (and I'm not in NYC) has ever given me free friendly advice, if there wasn't the prospect of a sale. You might be better off looking for another Graphic user who's knowledgeable-- or post your specific questions here, where there are people (not me) who are very knowledgeable.
I'm sure you could get any competent repair shop to screw on the replacement Graflok back, although you might want to look for one that's been around for a few decades so they know what it is. You could ask the S. K. Grimes techs if they would do it-- I bet it would be child's play for them but it would cost $100 - 200.
If you want to know whether your parts are complete, just take digital photos or scans and link to them on this forum. |

| Talk to Armato's in Glendale. They used to proved warranty service for Graflex, Inc.

Another chance might be Lens & Repo. The owner has written articles about Graphics and personally likes the cameras. I can't say how friendly they'd be foe "free advice", but if you mention that you're interested in another lens... I have bought from them and they seem okay to me, from a distance anyway

I always made it a practise to give good free advise when I worked in the photo stores, even if it never was going to result in a sale, boy your guys shops back east must be rough, I know out here in the west, most days will find a big group of people shooting the breeze in all the shops around here..
