OK, so it's not a classic Graflex lens. But I have one on the line, and while I would expect it to be really good based on its makers reputation, I would like to hear from someone who owns one. Anyone got one, and care to make comments on it?

I wasn't aware of this lens. I found the specs at B&H. it only covers 6x9cm wide open, but covers 4x5 at f16. So there's no room for movement. I'd be curious just how sharp the corners are.

Now I have a 120 SW Nikkor and it's fabulous on 8x10 But it needs a center filter and have never shelled out for it.

Thanks, Les. I had looked the price up in the B&H magazine ad but had not thought to look up the specs on their website. I am put off by only obtaining 4X5 coverage at f16, so I may pass on getting the lens. Too bad as the thought of having a fast really wide lens was attractive.

Does the 65 Super Angulon cover 4X5 wide open?

I never got the center filters for my Schneider SA lenses, either. Nearly all my work is B&W and I never really missed the filters.

Someone asked about the 65 Super Angulon on photo.net recently. I think the bottom line is that the very expensive version, the 65/5.6, will cover 4 x 5. The 65/8 covers 6 x 9cm, and nearly makes it out to 4 x 5 at small apertures.

I don't know how much the image circle of a SA contracts at large apertures-- I just looked at the Schneider site, and the data they give are for f/16 and f/22.
