Will the front standard from a Crown Graphic fit onto a Speed Graphic?

The "uprights" are interchangeable but you must use your existing lensboard mount (bellows front). The metal front will not directly interchange with early model bellows.

Although this is an old thread and one several on this subject, I want to give a word of warning about interchanging these standards. Today, I took a Pacemaker style standard off of an old Anniversary model that I had installed it on some years ago. I wanted to put it on a much nicer Anny that I just finished. To my surprise, on the new camera, the standard would not retract far enough to be able to close the front. Whazzup, asks I. The knurled tilt lock on the rangefindr side was hitting the actuating bracket on the rear of the focus rail. After puzzling over it for a few, I got out the old camera that didn't have this problem, to see why. That camera did not have a rangefinder and the bracket had been removed. Anyhoo, the moral of this story is - if you make this swap, be sure to shift the front about 3/16 of an inch so the whole thing retracts ALL THE WAY before closing the camera. If you don't and you force it, there WILL be severe breakage. (No, I didn't bust anything.)

A). Using the Major Products List we see that the term Crown did not come into existance until the Pacemaker line was introduced in 1947.
B). The ONLY difference between Crown and Speed Graphics is the basic camera box, The speed is larger to house the Focal Plane Shutter which the Crown Does Not have.
C). The Only difference between the Side RF and Top RF versions of the Pacemakers is the Manufacturer and location of the RF.
D). All versions of the Pacemakers are serviced the same.
E). All parts that are common to both Crown and Speed Pacemakers of the same Format Size WILL interchange.

Huh? I thought I was talking about using Pacemaker/Crown standards on Anniversary Speeds. Maybe I need a nap ---
