Well, I'm still in search of a wider angle lens for my Crown than the Ektar 127 I have.
I've found a couple that might be worth considering but wanted to gather opinions from those more knowledgable in LF than I.
One is a Graflex Optar 90mm f6.8. The other is a Fujinon 90mm f8.
Any thoughts on either of these?
Thanks. |

| Bob, there is a thread on the 100/6.8 Ektar going in the Lenses Help section. Read it.
Two posts there recommend a visit to http://www.hevanet.com/cperez/testing.html
Take the hint.
When you ask strangers about how well they like a lens, you run several risks. Their standards may differ. Their lenses may differ. No one may have the lens of interest.
All of the answers you get will be pure brown stuff, and you have no way to tell which are shoe polish and which are excrement.
There are no sure things but the odds favor the Fuji. |

Dan, I did post this in the wrong area, sorry about that.
We'll agree to disagree on the usefulness of opinions on lenses from other users. While they are subjective, they can be useful. This is not the only piece of information I use in making my decision but rather just one part of the research. True, no one may have the lens I (or anyone) may be asking about but how do you know unless you ask.
Anyway, I'll have a look at the thread on the Ektar 100 and the link you noted. |

You might want to add the Nikon F/8 90mm to the list. It's a little less money then the Fuji new but with a bigger image circle. Might be easier to find if you're buying used. |
