I'd like to give my SG a makeover. What should I use on the plastic coated fabric to get a "glossy new" look to it? Um... Shoe polish(just kidding)? Any suggestions? |

Shoe polish is what the old timers used, I'd stick with the past type and not the liquid Armour All used sparingly will work well too. Too much and it will get slippery!
Buff well.

Sorry Les--the old timers did not use shoe polish--if they had, there would not be any leather left on the old cameras--dries the leather badly, and your hands get black!
My preference is NEATSFOOT OIL, it softens and preserves the leather! Apply with fingers, let it soak in for 15 minutes (min), then buff it with a CLEAN shoe brush!
Apply to Body and Bellows!
This is Morrocan Leather, not plastic or man made (like the Century) Some use Lexan--it comes in several forms--cleaners--preservatives (i find that it is a bit tacky, so I use only the cleaner) Other good
products can be found at http://www.tandyleather.com

Even SaddleSoap works really well to clean the leather. A bit easier to find and very easy to use. |

Thanks for all your suggestions. I came across some saddlesoap, while looking on my dad's work bench, so I'll give it a buff. |
