Hi, I'm new to forum and proud owner of a Crown 4x5 (about 1956) and need another lensboard (with the crimped lip) for my Heliar 4.5/15cm (Compur-1). I plan to buy a Century for use with my SuperAngulon 8/65 (Compur 00) and ApoLanthar 4.5/105.
Where do I get these metal lensboards? I could use a bunch of them. What were the Graflex numbers to identify them?
Are they available new somewhere? Couldn't be a huge problem to produce them in series?
I'm not patient enough to look for them at ebay in single pieces, which occurs me either for another cameras or with wrong (too big/ too small) holes.
cheers,
Frank (Germany)

There is a company that advertises on Ebay all the time, and produce New boards for the crowns, albeit I think he is expensive, I think Midwest Camera Exchange also has new reproduction boards for the Crowns as well. I understand, the holes being the wrong size, but don't understand the size being the wrong size as all of the crowns used the same metal board with the rolled lip on the edges?

Look harder, and learn the language.

Go back to http://www.mpex.com, place the cursor over "large format". When a menu pops up, click on "graphic cameras and accessories," scroll down the page that comes back.

Now about language. Y'r Crown Graphic is one of two 4x5 Pacemaker Graphic models. So look for Pacemaker Graphic. MPEX has blank boards with only a pilot hole drilled, I just looked.

You may faint when you read this post but I made my own lens boards with a very hard carton and they work fine.

OK, I'll bite. I'll a bit dense sometimes.

I made Gatorfoam ones, then pondered what to do about the double lip/light trap thing.

I thought to cut a thick board for the inner opening and a thinner board to cover the light trap in the front opening.

I suspected, and now and certain I have overcomplicated this!

As long as it fits, just use it?

And how do people mount 7" Aero-Ektar's? 1/4" aluminum?
