I have a Century Graphic with a Rodenstock Ysarex 101 mm. / f3.5 lens mounted in a Compur shutter. I would like a lens shade for it - is there anything still available ? Used is O.K. Thanks in advance for responding.

Bob

You will probably need to find a Series VI adapter ring and use a Series VI shade. Measure the outside diameter of the lens barrel (in mm.). That is the size of slip-on adapter you will need. Keep an eye on the world's favorite auction site as these things show up regularly. You may also want to measure the inside thread diameter on the front of the lens (in mm). Someone on ePay is selling a lot of small diameter filters and hoods for camcorders. That may be an option. Or, use your hat as a shade like in the olden days. (they don't seem olden to me)

Hi Bob
I don't have your brand of lens, but I do own a 101mm Kodak Ektar and what I use is:
A Kodak Series VI(6) Adapter Ring 1-1/4 Inch 31.5mm compression connection to my lens front element. Measure your lens diameter and that should be the only difference (if any) from what I use. Then all you need is a Series 6 (VI) shade. All the above is available off eBay.
Happy Holidays, Harry

In a pinch you can use the dark slide from your roll holder or film holder to shade the lens. It's bigger and also casts a directional shadow (user-dependent!). Just be careful not to take a picture of it.
