So i have this apparently quite old speed graphic. Serial number stamped in the wood inside the top housing is #66669. No rangefinder, no where to attach one. Curved top on wire frame finder. The lens on it is a 4.5 Tessar in a dial-set Compur.

It's been in the family probably since it was new. It's been used (underside of ground glass frame is polished from film holder insertion) but it is pretty much pristine. After a cleaning and lube the front shutter is dead on, the curtain shutter works and will be accurate once I adjust it. It has it's original case with a bunch of *plate* holders and a film-pack holder.

I find it annoying to use handheld due to the lack of a rangefinder; you have to prefocus and stop down and always keep track of distance. It's fine to use as a view camera on a tripod though, aside from the lack of movements. And it's sure pretty.

This camera started out life as a Top Handle, probably fromthe late teens. Some time after, It was updated to look like a Pre-Ann. if you look near the serial number and near the flip up view finder you'll see holes for the handle posts.

Interesting. Was that a common retrofit?

I don't see screwholes but of course they could have been filled in and painted over.
