I have a Voigtlander Braunschweig Heliar I:3.5.F=13.5cm. lens that is adapted to a crown graphic lens board. It is mounted on a compur shutter with the shutter speeds selected on a dial. Does anyone have any information about this lens and/or can it be mounted on a new shutter? |

Can't give any technical specs but the Heliar is a 5 element design that is still considered quite good. The excellent Kodak Ektar 105mm f:3.7 lens used this design. Before having it re-mounted, check on having the dial set Compur brought up to specs. Try S.K. Grimes. These shutters are one of the easiest to repair. It would save a ton of money.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely look into getting the shutter serviced. |

FWIW, I've got one of those old dial set compurs---quite a nice shutter actually, well worth a cla. My old Universal Ilexs and even my modern copals seem prone to fits on occasion, but that ds compur and my supermatics---like John Cameron Swayze's Timex watches of yore---keep on ticking.
