Hello!
I just got a 203 f7.7 ektar in a Kodak Supermatic---arrived today. There is no fitting for a cable release, only a lever that trips the shutter. There is however a button that looks as if it should trip the shutter, but it dosen't do anything that I've been able to figure. Any ideas what it does or is supposed to do? Could it be(I hope) that it is a shutter release and might be able to be swapped for a cable release fitting? Any ideas? |

Did you cock the shutter then press the button? sounds like a press to focus button.
Is there a picture of the shutter somewhere?

I just hauled out the Crown with a 127 Ektar in a black "military finish" supermatic for a comparison. On the 203mm there is a small escutcheon behind the little lever that trips the shutter, with a small bright knurled screw. The plate is in the same location on the 127 and is where the cable release fits. I suspect that if I take out the knurled screw I'll have my hook up for the cable release. Cluck-cluck! I feel a bit like Henny Penny! |
