I just obtained a nice pre-anniversary speed, and the lens that came with it is rather interesting. It is a 13.5cm Tessar, and it is in a parallel focusing mount. Judging from the serial number (98598) the lens was probably made CA 1908~1910, and I expect that it predates my camera. I have other early Tessars, but have never seen or heard of one in a focusing mount. Anyone know anything about this lens? |

| I know nothing about it. You might ask Charlie Barringer, the Zeiss collector. I've sent you his e-mail address in a private message.
Odds are that someone put camera a lens together. That's one of the nice properties of press/technical/view cameras -- any old lens will go on any old camera. In the very special case of Speed Graphics, any old lens in barrel will go ...
Cheers,
