Hello,

This is my first experience with a large format camera, so bear with me.

I inherited a Crown Graphic
Kodak Ektar 127mm f4.7 serial no. ESI15632
Kalart Synchronized Rnage Finder

When was this camera made?

Is it possible to get a Polaroid back for this camera? If so, what do I look/ask for?

Any recommendations for a shop that will do cosmetic work as well as CLA of lens and body?

Thank you for this great resource!!

Sincerely, Yuri

The lens was made in 1947. If original to the camera then the camera was made close to then too.

there are several Polaroid backs available. The one that I'm certain will fit is the 545 (or 545i, 545 pro) this slides in from the side like a film holder and uses Polaroid sheet film.

There are two common backs for this camera, the Graphic or the spring back and the Graflok back.

From the lens date, I'm fairly certain you have a Graphic back. If so it should have to flat springs, usually painted black that hold the ground glass assembly to the camera.

The Graflok back has a two chrome struts that rest in hooks on the camera body.

The Graflok back would accept the 405 and 550 pack film holders, which use cheaper Polaroid film packs, but give a smaller print. The Graflok back was introduced in 1950 which is why I suspect your camera has the Graphic back.
