How? There's no lens. I think your confusing the Speed i o scope with the Oscillo Raptar.

The o'scope is a tachioscope, which is a fancy term for a shutter on a projector. With a fast shutter the instructor could project an image or a word momentarily to help train GI Joe how to recognize outlines of Japanese ships and planes. Later Evelyn Wood took the technology to the written word, And still later Cheech & Chong did a great skit on Evlin Woodhead, but I digress.....

There are two versions, the Junior version doesn't have some of the shutter speeds and somthing else.

Thanks for the info. I'm passing on it. Anyone have any interest, search "Speedioscope" on the Bay. No bids @ $9.99. Ends March 26.

I've seen them come up for auction from time to time and have considered buying one because they look so damned cool; never mind whether I'd have a use for it!

The Speedioscope shutters are nice ones for mounting a barrel lens. They are particularly desireable because these shutters are fitted with a preview lever that opens the shutter to enable focussing on the groundglass.

The Oscillo-Graphic shutter is similar but lacks the preview lever.

I mounted a number of graphics arts lenses into these shutters and it is a fine combination, provided that a top speed of 1/100th isn't too limiting for you.
