I have an early Heiland flash with only 3 household outlets and a SOL cap and clamp. Hasn't worked since the day I bought it, and this just now took it apart hoping to either find something broken or obviously wrong. Aside from a slip of cardboard thet fell out when removing the capsule from the tube, everything looks good; dirty but good. I plan on cleaning and reassembling it for testing, but was wondering if anyone had recommendations for flash repairs in the case that it still does not function? A quick internet revealed nobody, and my own electrical skills are not good enough for me to figure out the wiring (simple as it appears to be). With luck, a cleaning wil do the trick... maybe even that slip of paper was the problem, although I suspect it was insulation and probably important.

So to follow up, I did a little cleaning of the capsule before reassembling the flash and--lo and behold--inspite of leaving out two pieces... it works! Sometimes my own genius astounds even me. Now all I need is to get the cameras fixed up.
