MY CASE IS STILL IN GOOD CONDITION BUT THE PAINT IS CHIPPING OFF-DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT THIS PAINT IS

Probably lead based as that was the type of that era. Take a large chip (1 inch square or larger) to a local paint store that does color matching and ask them to match. When you have a suitable match strip and dispose of the old stuff in the nearest toxic waste dump.
